Gildardo Rengifo, with an extraordinary talent, was Born in Alvarado-Tolima, Colombia in 1951. Rengifo is a self-taught painter and an accomplished artist who began painting at an early age. He took some classes at School of Fine Arts in 1974 in Bogota; Teachers: Marco A Tellez and Dario Morales. In 1984 he studied at the Cultural Center of Japanese Embassy “Miniature Specialization and Strategies” Paint brush and Paint Techniques.
Rengifo has been painting professionally for almost thirty years. He spends as much as two months to complete many of his major works. In 1997 his work was chosen to be used as a greeting card to benefit UNICEF, United Nations Children’Fund.

Rengifo’s landscapes are characterized by the simplicity of everyday life, but masterfully filled with the signs of peace and hope as white doves subtly sweep through the scene and butterflies in magnetic colors draw the viewer’s eyes and attention.
